Paul Healy is the Centre Manager of the Rubicon Centre, Ireland’s largest enterprise incubator centre. He has grown the Rubicon since its Foundation in 2006, and is responsible for leading a team of specialists who support the next generation of start-ups in Ireland. With over 20 years’ experience in developing start-ups across all technology sectors, Paul has first-hand experience of raising finance, accessing new opportunities, strategy, and company development. Having been involved in the Rubicon Centre since its foundation, he has provided support to other organisations looking to launch their own incubator centre or other enterprise supports. He is a graduate of the University of Limerick and University College Cork.
Paul is a board member of Cork Foundation and is a Strategic Advisory Board Member to a number of established Companies. Paul is currently a Working Group Member of the Department of Enterprise,Innovation & Jobs, Action Plan for Jobs 2014.


Maeve Mc Carthy – Admin & Client Support

Maeve joined in 2006 and is responsible for Financial Administration and Client Support on a day to day basis.
Prior to joining the Rubicon Centre Maeve held Financial Accounting Support roles in the Telecoms Sector.


George Bulman – Operations Manager

George joined the Rubicon Centre in 2012 as the Operations Manager and is responsible alongside Paul for the operation of the Centre.

His role as the Operations Manager is to ensure that the facility and all its equipment are functional and operational ensuring all the client’s needs are satisfied. He is also responsible for all company policies and procedures. He is a graduate of University of Ulster and holds a Bsc(hons).

George has worked for over 25 years in start-up, established and Multinational companies. He has held various roles as Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager and General Manager in sectors such as Medical Devices, Serviced Offices, Document & Records Management and Electronics. He uses this experience to provide support to the Rubicon entrepreneurs.

Maria joined the Rubicon Centre in 2012 as an Administrator, and provides administrative support to clients and management in various areas. Maria is a graduate of University College Cork and holds a BA and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Economics. Prior to joining the Rubicon Centre, Maria worked in the Financial Banking Sector and is a qualified financial advisor.

Miriam is our enterprise intern. Miriam has just completed her Level 8 degree in Agriculture in CIT. Miriam has a passion for Business and agriculture and is pursuing a research Masters in the area of Entrepreneurship.



Liam Fitzgerald – New Frontiers Programme Manager

Liam joined the Rubicon Centre in 2015 and led the Exxcel Programme for Female Entrepreneurs in STEM. Liam now manages the New Frontiers Programme; and spent his early career in senior management positions in both SME’s and multinational businesses including Lidl Ireland GmbH and Lloyds Pharmacy. He has been involved in supporting start-up, small and SME businesses since 2005.
Currently completing an MBS in Business Practice, Liam has post graduate qualifications in Management, Coaching, Financial Management, Strategy and Innovation. He is passionate about Entrepreneurship, Business and Education.


Alison Walsh – EXXCEL Female Entrepreneurship Programme Manager

Alison Walsh joined the Rubicon centre in 2017 as programme manager for the Exxcel programme for Female Entrepreneurs.
Alison has worked in several multinational organisations during her career such as Irish Distillers, Groupe Pernod Richard, and Ford motor company both internationally in Australia, London and in Ireland. She gained invaluable expertise in the roles she held in sales and marketing, relationship management and consulting in those organisations.
She spent over 10 years in Enterprise Ireland supporting indigenous Irish SME’s working as a Senior Development Adviser advising companies on skills development, leadership development and strategies for growth. She has designed and implemented several management development programmes for CEO’s across multiple sectors.
Alison is committed and passionate about the importance and value of leadership skills development and to supporting and enabling business growth and success.

She holds a BSc in Food business from University College Cork, MBA from Dublin City University and a Higher Diploma in Human Resource management from the Irish Management Institute.
