Ferfics Wins Regional Prize

Cork company Ferfics, has triumphed in the Munster regional finals stage of InterTrade Ireland’s Seedcorn Competition, winning the prestigeous prize for Best High Growth Company, securing a prize fund of €25,000.

Based in the Rubicon Centre, Ferfics was established in 2007 by Chief Executive Eugene Heaney. The company is at the leading edge of introducing new semiconductor technology for wireless applications, marketing their service worldwide.

Commenting on the company’s success in this stage of the Seedcorn competition, Mr Heaney said: “We are absolutely thrilled and humbled to have won the regional finals of the competition. We were delighted to have the opportunity to meet with some of Ireland’s leading business experts and gain from their wealth and knowledge.”

Liam Nellis, chief executive of InterTradeIreland, the all-island business development body which runs Seedcorn, commented: “Ferfics is a very worthy regional worthy winner and is good example of how hard work and innovation quickly pays off when establishing and growing a new company". 

Ferfics will now have access to some of Ireland’s top investment experts who will advise them on how best to develop their business in the current economic climate and accelerate growth in preparation for the upturn.”

Acting Operations Manager Grainne Lennon said: "The InterTradeIreland all-island Seedcorn business competition recognises companies, no matter how small or young, with the best ideas and potential for commercial success across the island. Ferfics is a shining example in this regard.”
