Food movement goes national

LocalMarkets.ie is one of a kind. It’s the only online store in Ireland where you can buy locally grown produce and homemade goods of all kinds and get them delivered straight to your door, anywhere in Ireland for a small delivery fee. It’s the online equivalent of shopping at your local greengrocer, butchers and farmer’s market and now it’s celebrating the launch of its new nationwide delivery service.

PINC Programme Graduates April 2011

To mark the successful completion of the first PINC Programme on Wednesday 30th March, participants entertained and intrigued their audience as they brought them through the highs and lows of their business venture from start up to date.  After the short sales presentation, each entrepreneur showcased their product or service, which ranged from delicious homemade treats to hand crafted jewellery and personalised art pieces. The event, which attracted huge interest from across the business sector, was held in the Rubicon Centre, CITs on campus business incubator and all monies raised went directly to their nominated charity- breast cancer awareness.

18 New Irish Companies Launch at 2011 Genesis Showcase & Awards

Mr. Simon Coveney, T.D., Minister for Agriculture, Marine and Food launched 18 new Irish Companies at the 14th Annual Genesis Enterprise Programme (GEP) 2011 Awards & Showcase, at Cork Institute of Technology on Monday 28th March.

Congratulating the new companies on achieving their first year in business, Minister Coveney said “in challenging economic times it is refreshing to find new opportunities and fresh entrepreneurial thinking which will help lead Ireland to growth and prosperity once more.  What I have seen here this evening is Ireland’s entrepreneurs demonstrating the Smart Economy in action.  These are the businesses that will shape our future with the creation of high value enterprises and employment opportunities.  Initiative programmes such as Genesis Enterprise are key to supporting emerging businesses turn their initial idea into a viable reality with export potential".
